Calling all fans of corny, over-the-top, sci-fi. I've just run across what might possibly be one of the most ridiculous B movies ever made.
This Saturday night on the SyFy channel, they will be featuring the made for TV movie, MEGA SHARK VS. GIANT OCTOPUS. It will be on Saturday, August 29th at 7:45pm (check your local listings)
Now get a load of this trailer.
Tell me, doesn't that just say, "B-movie extravaganza" all over it. I mean, its only once in a life time you get to see a shark eat an airplane.
Okay, Now that you're hooked, and you just can't wait to watch this thing, you need to double your fun by watching this movie with the good company over at "Saturday Night in the Snark Cave," and you can comment and react live with other B-movie fans while you enjoy MEGA SHARK VS. GIANT OCTOPUS. Go check out the Snarky Cave site, the guy in charge, Taylor Kent, is a lot of fun.
One last thing? What's your two most favorite B movies of all time???

New Christian Sci-fi: Robin Parrish’s, Offworld
Welcome to another Christian science fiction and fantasy blog tour. Interestingly, were featuring another story about humans who find themselves in isolation. Robin Parrish's Offworld is a story about a team of astronauts who return to Earth and find that everyone has disappeared. What's cool is this is yet another Christian published sci-fi story, and that means (I hope) that this genre is gaining momentum in the Christian sphere. Parrish's novel has gotten very positive reviews on Amazon, and I have to say the story sounds compelling.
Let me throw a question out there to anyone stopping by who's read much good Christian sci-fi: what would you say is the most memorable story you've read and why? If you can't think of any Christian sci-fi, what secular sci-fi has impacted you?

Adventures in selling books
Well, Mike and I had a lot of fun at Spirit West Coast Spirit West Coast selling our book. Here are some pictures to prove it.
We made a tone of friends. Who knew there were so many fellow Christian science fiction geeks out there who were just like us. We felt accepted and loved :)
This picture above here is me and Mike's first sale!

This is a picture of our little booth. It took team work to make it! Banners, backdrop, table chairs, signs...

Here we have Mike and I setting up our "Meet the Authors" sign. We of course had to have two of them to make sure we drew in as many interested passersby as possible.
And here is a picture of my lovely pregnant wife, Amanda. Me and my wife got to see some of the bands play at the festival and had a great time moshing and head-banging.
Well...that part about moshing and head-banging isn't true...
I guess we just kinda stood there.
But I did catch my wife nodding her head to the beat a couple times...
Anyways, it was a blast, but it is good to be back home. And if anyone of my friends from Spirit West Coast is reading this, leave a comment and say "Hi"! I plan to be back in Monterey come next year!
