I'm back friends!
I took a bit of a blogging break (sorry about that), but I needed to spend the time reading and writing. Much of my focus during this break was on the defense of the Christian faith (apologetics), and on developing a holistic (unified) Christian worldview. If you are not familiar with either the term apologetics, or do not understand what the term "Christian worldview" means, I strongly urge you to open up time to familiarize yourself with them. Your faith will grow deeper, your witness will become bolder, and you will understand God's design for the world, and our role as Christians in it.
First, I want to recommend the book "Love Your God with All Your Mind" by philosopher J.P. Moreland. It will light a fire under the average Christian, provoking him to be intentional about their time, study, and goals, submitting all things to Christ. As the back cover states: "He challenges us to develop a Christian mind and to use our intellect to further God's kingodm through evangelism, apologetics, worship, and vocation."
Secondly, I want to recommend a list of intelligent Christian men and women. These are Christians who are making a difference by using their minds (or did so in the past). Sadly, most Christians we see represented in the media are more "stimulating personalities" than intelligent Christian thinkers. Of course, we can't expect a secular media to put Christianity's best foot forward. Here is a LIST compiled at one of my FAVORITE sites http://apologetics315.blogspot.com/
The names on this list which have influenced me most are William Lance Craig, Ravi Zacharias, Greg Koukl, Douglas Groothuis, Nancy Pearcey, and Stephen Meyers.
All the above names have websites associated with them, and if you like to watch videos, just type in their names in youtube and prepare to learn.
